Indonesia is a country that has cultural diversity and is known as a multicultural country. This diversity includes various societal norms, customs, traditional ceremonies, and other traditions which are a form of creativity and human cultural heritage. Currently, Javanese traditions and culture can be found in various parts of the archipelago, including in Kradenan Village, which is located in Banyuwangi Regency. Kradenan village in particular has a very strong Javanese cultural tradition, because most of the residents are of Javanese descent. Kradenan Village has inherited many traditions from their ancestors for generations, one of which is the genduren tradition which is performed in the month of Suro. Genduren is a Javanese tradition that involves the local community to gather and pray together for the purpose of their safety and happiness. Through the genduren tradition in Kradenan Village, various values of multiculturalism are reflected, such as harmony, tolerance, cooperation, solidarity, and a sense of nationality.
