Implementasi Tri Hita Karana untuk Meningkatkan Nilai-Nilai Karakter Peserta Didik SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja

Education is an absolute necessity in the life of the nation and state, it cannot even be separated from human life in its function to improve the quality of life individually and as a group in social life. Tri Hita Karana is part of the teachings of Hinduism which has the understanding of three causes of harmony or happiness. In formal education, the material about Tri Hita Karana is already listed in the standard content or curriculum. At SMP N 5 Singaraja Tri Hita Karana in the school environment is to realize the welfare or happiness of life physically and mentally. However, there are still many characters of students who still deviate from the teachings of Tri Hita Karana, therefore this study aims to. (1) To analyze the implementation strategy of Tri Hita Karana in improving the character values of students in SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja. (2) To examine the process of implementing the strategy of implementing Tri Hita Karana teachings at SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja in improving the character values of participants educate. (3) To examine the implications of the implementation of Tri Hita Karana on the character values of students at SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation and document studies. The data is processed through four stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, data analysis and drawing conclusions. The results showed that, (1) the implementation of the teachings of Tri Hita Karana at SMP N 5 Singaraja is to create students who have character and are able to establish a harmonious relationship with God, others, and the environment, (2) the process of implementing Tri Hita Karana in SMP Negeri 5 Singaraja is carried out by applying the Parhyangan concept in the form of a sacred building and the implementation of the Panca Yadnya. Pawongan is implemented by making schools a forum for building student character, strengthening school relationships with parents or guardians of students, and Empowering the role of BK. Palemahan is implemented in the establishment of a routine student picket schedule, tamarind processing by school residents, and school garden management by students. (3) The implications of the application of Tri Hita Karana in schools found the results of strengthening and increasing the character of students such as, Sradha and Bhakti students, Religious Character, Nationalist Attitude, Independent, Mutual Cooperation and Integrity.
