ROLE OF PARENTS IN INCULCATE ETHICS: HUMAN VALUES IN TIMES SHAPING GLOBALIZATION

Ethics are the good and bad behavior or right and wrong conduct adopted by the
group or within the family, community, and nation. Ethics forming characters to showcase the
best that is in man. But the reality in the society is not as expected. As children now sorely
lacking ethical one because of globalization. The problem, why children need to be given ethics?
This
paper
uses
the
theory
of
utilitarianism
that
is
an
act
which
is
considered
good
if
useful,
is
said
to
be
bad
if
it
is
not
useful.
Answers
to
these
problems
in
shaping
human
values
children
or
establish
ethical
children
the
attitude
of
parents
should
(1)
firm,
gentle,
friendly
and
smiling,
protect,
and
guide,
(2)
do
not
provide
over-protection
as
a
result
of
children
lack
confidence
themselves,
(3)
not to accomplish every children wishes, due to the child being spoiled and
obedient, (4) not too ideally demanded the child should be perfect, as a result, the child feels
and thinks that he has failed, (5) Do not completely prohibit or refuse, kids will be violent and
aggressive. These implications here that need to be implemented by parents not only with words
alone.
